Committee meetings

Once created the Shadow Authority for Cumberland Council will establish a number of committees.

Joint Committees

Before the Shadow Authorities are established, a Joint Committee met for a short period.

Independent Remuneration Panel

The Independent Remuneration Panel advises Cumberland Council on the level of remuneration to be paid to Councillors, in accordance with The Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003

Standards Committee Independent Person

Under the provisions of the Localism Act 2011, the Council is required to appoint at least one Independent Person to assist the Council in promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct amongst its elected members and town and parish councillors.
