ON Thursday 4 May 2023 people in the new Cumberland Council area will have their say at local town and parish elections on who represents them locally.

The Shadow Authority for Cumberland Council has agreed its first budget at a meeting held in Carlisle this week

Another major milestone has been met in the creation of a new council this week, with the agreement of budget recommendations.

Councillors have agreed a major document which outlines how a new council will operate.

Residents are being encouraged to have their say on some of the budget proposals for the first year of the new Cumberland Council. 

The recruitment process for the following roles is now underway.

The Shadow Authority for Cumberland Council has agreed its ambitious Council Plan for its first four years.

The Shadow Executive for Cumberland Council has agreed to recommend its Council Plan for adoption at the authority’s Full Council.
